Favorite Book Reader

FBReader,

short for Fiction Book Reader is a multilingual, cross-platform (Android, BlackBerry, FreeBSD, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Tizen) e-book reader by the creators of Favorite Book Reader.


Initially open-source software written (in C++) by Nikolay Pultsin in 2005, the app supported Sharp Zaurus - a PDA - and subsequently a range of other devices. The tool became closed-source in 2015 and was split into free and premium versions on Android for additional features at a cost.

FBReader supported E-book formats:

Just as it supports an extensive cache of devices across multiple platforms, FBReader can open a lot of e-book formats such as  ComicBook (.CBR, .CBZ), DjVu (.djvu, .djv), electronic Publication (.epub), ePub 3, the russian standard Fiction Book 2.0 & 2.1 (fb2, fb2.zip, fbz), FBPlain text (.txt), HTML (.htm, .html), Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf), Mobi (.azw3, .mobi), Portable Document Format (.pdf), DAISY 3 and in some platforms CHM, Plucker. Note that the app doesn't support these formats uniformly on all devices
